After breakfast, we will drive to Kharkhorin town which is located in Uvurkhangai province, Mongolia. You will see ancient old Buddhist temple museum and modern Kharkhorin history museum as well. Back in the 13th century, Kharkhorin was constructed as a proper capital city that attracted traders, dignitaries, and skilled workers from across Asia and even Europe. Erdene Zuu temple was built 16th-century using materials from the destroyed city but was later badly damaged during the Stalinist purges of 1937, when the monks were either killed or deported to Siberia. The Khakhorin city was the capital of the Great Mongol Empire during the Chinggis Khaan’s period.
After breakfast we will drive to Orkhon Waterfall, also called Ulaan Tsutgalan is one of the best sights in central Mongolia. About 25m downstream from the waterfall you can climb down to the bottom of the gorge, 22m deep and dotted with pine trees. Approximately 20.000 years ago, the waterfall was formed due to earthquakes and merged from volcanic eruptions. However, the water doesn’t run all year and will only start to flow after the first good summer rain. Best time to see it in late July and August. The road to the waterfall is not easily accessible, owing to the rocky surface of the area along the Orkhon River itself is the longest river in Mongolia with a length of 1124km and it has been protected since 2006 as a National Park. Scenic and untouched natural distinct spots allow good opportunities for hiking and horseback riding. The valley is known as the home of Nomadic culture. Yak herder nomads are common.
After breakfast we will drive to Tsenher hot spa which is located in Arkhangai province. Most of the drive is off-road, but the scenery is amazing with rolling steppe and mountains in the background. On arrival enjoy lunch or picnic and hike in the surrounding hills and forests to discover open air pools and steams of hot springs. You will know you are near natural sources geothermal water by distinctive the sulfuric smell. The water is not mixed with soil waters because it is hot. Also the spring is kept in high pressure under the ground flow rate is high, 10 liters per seconds. Tsenher hot springs have healing properties notably on articular diseases and nervous system’s diseases. There are several tourist camps which are offering for tourists indoor and outdoor baths. They transfer the hot water via tubes from and built some pools. Night bath is great. Sitting in the pool drinking while seeing stars at the dark sky is one of the favorite activity in here.
The national park is the highlight of Arkhangai province and famous for its attractive scenery. It is situated in 580km northwest of Ulaanbaatar. It has been protected since 1965, fully in 1997 to safeguard spectacular mountain scenery and endangered flora and fauna.
Terkhiin tsagaan nuur and the extinct volcano Khorgo. Local people called White lake of the Terkh River is located 2060 meters above the sea level, the one of the most beautiful lakes in Arkhangai province. The lake extends 16 kilometers long and 10-16 kilometers wide. It covers an area of 61 square km and averages depth is 20 meters. There are many pikes and other species of fish and birds as well. This is an institution near the lake, the camp has a great experience and enjoys a good location be the riverside. The eruption of Khorgo Volcano explains the presence of the lake. An extinct volcano reaching its highest point at 2240 meters and located east from White lake. The volcano covered with basalt that was active 8000 years ago. Its crater measures 200 meters in diameter and 100 meters in depth, and it is surrounded with small copses of trees. Hiking here is really fantastic and the landscape is wonderful with extinct volcano craters producing various rock formations and huge gorges with fast flowing rivers and cascades.
After breakfast continue the drive to Lake Khuvsgul and arrive in time for lunch in a village of Khatgal. Afterwards, board the Sukhbaatar ship or rent the small boat for the trip to a vantage point on the other side of the lake. Climb up and enjoy the views of the Khuvsgul Lake and Taiga. After returning by ship to Khatgal, you will have a chance to go off hiking or cycling on the mountain bikes you can rent from the camp on trails alongside the lake shore. In the evening enjoy dinner at the camp and perhaps some amazing shargazing if the skies are clear.
Get ready to discover the Tsaachin community on this remote adventure to the Siberian taiga near the border with Russia, home to the last few remaining families of teepee-dwelling reindeer herders – the Tsaatan. Ride on horseback to reach their camp location, stay in among them in Teepees, learn their traditions, meet a Shaman and tend to, and ride reindeers. This unique expedition ventures to a very remote area, not accessible by vehicles, and all the supplies, camping equipment and provisions will be carried by pack horses. A cook and local Tsaatan guide will accompany you. Upon return from the Taiga, stay two nights at the beautiful Lake Khuvsgul and just rest at the camp and enjoy the amazing scenery.
Uran Togoo Mountain is a pretty good place to break a journey to Khuvsgul, it is extinct volcano. There have some nice camping areas along with hiking and horseback riding. The Uran togoo – Tulga Uul natural monument is a national protected area in the Bulgan Province of Mongolia. It is located about 60km directly west of Bulgan city around the extinct volcanoes Uran togoo, Tulga, Togoo and Jalach Uul.
It is the most beautiful and the most famous parts of the North Mongolia. It was active 20-25 millions of years ago. You can find exceptional and plenteous fauna and flora. A hike along a footpath through the Siberian larches will lead you to the crater. You will see a surprising of plants, but also many birds and insects, like Apollo butterfly. Then you will go to the bottom of the crater, where you will find in its center a small lake and beautiful dense vegetation. The Mongolian government had first limited the protected area of Uran Togoo to the north of Uran Uul 1965, then extended it to the south of Uran Uul in 1995. Uran means (Artistic), Mongols named it so because its ridge of the crater is one of many examples of circles that arise in nature resembled a nice creature of a craftsman. Its soil is very fertile and plants of steppe or forest –steppe grow here. Larch dotted forest, asp, aspen and birch trees are grown in shadow side of the mountains.
The volcano has breeding populations of various birds, grouse, sparrow, owl, falcon, cuckoo and hoopoe. Snake is very common.
This monastery is one of the three Buddhist monastic centers in Mongolia. The monastery complex is located in the Selenge River. Construction took place between 1727 and 1736 and Zanabazar’s remains were transferred there in 1779. Bogd Zanabazar was a great leader of Mongolians. That’s why it was built for the memory of Bogd Zanabazar’s skills, wisdom, intellect, accomplishment, talent, artistic skill and a wisdom, by the order Manchu Emperor, Enkh-Amgalant king in 1725. When Buddhism was flourishing in Mongolia, the monastery consisted over 50 temples and 6000 monks.
Amarbayasgalant was one of the very few monasteries to have partly escaped destruction during the Stalinist purges of 1937, after which only the buildings of the central section remained. Today, only 28 temples remain. Restoration work began 1988 with funds provided by UNESCO and private sources and some of the new statuary was commissioned in New Delhi, India. The monastery keeps many important original scripts of cultural heritage including the 108 volumes of Ganjuur and the 226 volumes of Danjuur. There is also a 13 meter tall Bogd Zonkhoba image with his 2 disciples and 108 stairs.

How is the food in Mongolia?
The main food for Mongolian meat, which is suited to Mongolian’s way of life and climate. During summertime, Mongolians prefer to have more milk products from the livestock. However, there are hundreds of foreign restaurants inside and outside the city and all tourist camps serve with Asian, European and other food.
How is the electricity and sockets of Mongolia?
The power supply in Ulaanbaatar is now very reliable and there are only the occasional blackouts. Electricity is 220V, 50 Hz. The sockets throughout the country accommodate the European – style 2 pin plugs. In the countryside, the power supply still has frequent interruptions. In many cases, this is due to the cost of fuel. Wiring in many places needs updating and so care should be undertaken.
Will it be possible to extend my stay at a destination?
Yes, but you have to inform us first before the tour starts. Also, additional charges will be applicable. No alterations can be done when the tour is in progress.
If I lose my passport, what assistance will I be provided?
We assist to report to the nearest police station and on request from your country Embassy. Also, you have to bear all the other costs by yourself.

Generally, we have to walk at sightseeing places, sometimes for a long distance, however the same will be timely instructed by the tour guide.

How can I stay in touch with my family and friends on a tour?

What type of meals are included on tour and can I request for a special meal?
All meals are served during most of our tours as specified in each package tour program. A full board of 3 meals a day. Please refer to the tour itinerary sent and confirmed by your “M Sand dunes” consultant for further details. We can cater vegetarians, special dietary requests without any problem, you will only have to notify us of your special dietary requests at least 30 days before the tour start.
Do you have a cook on tour?
We generally have meals at Mongolian tourist camp as it gives you an opportunity to enjoy a different ambiance and is comfortable. At times, we do give packed lunch too depending upon the itinerary.
What is the possibility of getting a VISA?
We just assist you in filing the application for the VISA. If there is no Mongolia embassy in your country, one-month visas can be obtained on the spot once you arrive at the airport or railway station.
Do I need Overseas Travel insurance?
It is advisable to acquire adequate Overseas Travel Insurance cover for protection from any possible risks such as damage, loss, accident or injury to life, etc. on tour
Does the tour guide assist us on the entire tour?
Yes, the tour guide will assist you throughout the tour. However, they are not responsible for baggage or any kind of personal belongings.

How many days before the tour should I do the booking?
We recommend you book your tour at least 1 month before the scheduled departure date as most of our tours fill up 1 month in advance. If you book early you can avail of the booking discounts.
Do I need to pay the entire tour price lump-sum while booking?
If you pay the tour price at one go 30 days prior departure then you are benefited as you get a full payment discount. It is not mandatory though, you can pay the registration amount to book and pay the balance payment later.

Do we get any confirmation email of our scheduled departure?
Yes, 2 to 3 days before your scheduled departure we give an email to inform the reporting time and place.

Do I need to carry multiple currencies as per different countries visited on the tour?
USD / EURO are universally accepted currencies and easily exchangeable in any part of the world. You can carry the local currency of the visiting country worth $50 for miscellaneous expenses and if in case of emergency.
After paying once, will I get a refund of the tour cost?
In case of cancellation of your tour by the Company, you will get a refund of the actual amount paid by you. But if you cancel the tour, the cancellation charges will be applicable as per the below-mentioned cancellation policy:

Due to the short nature of the Mongolian travel season (June, July, August & September) services for travelers tend to be overbooked. Ideally, it takes 4 – 5 working days to process refunds, once the guest agrees on the refund amount.
